7:08 pm   -   September 7th, 2007

Thanks affiliates for an outstanding August!

With average sales of over $125 and conversion rates of 2.2% it is easy to see why August was such a good month for Junonia. Some of our top affiliates were converting at over a 20% rate… Wow!

In more Junonia news:

Junonia just introduced their new fall apparel line with the drop of their latest catalog. Their new fall line is the largest in company history with over 150 exclusive new apparel styles added to their traditional core casual and sportswear offering. The new assortment has over 45 new jackets and coats, including new performance ski apparel for plus-size women that can’t be found anywhere else. Several new fabrics have also been introduced with stretch, support, and wicking features that are specifically geared towards the needs of plus size active women.

Junonia is adding enhanced search functionality to their website in September with the application of EasyAsk software from Progress Software Corp. The EasyAsk application enables customers to hone their search by offering up additional product attributes that are related to the customer’s initial search words. The new functionality is expected to produce fewer failed searches and improve conversion.

Junonia recently received the “2007 Direct Marketer of the Year” award from the Midwest Direct Marketing Association. The award pays tribute to organizations that elevate the stature of the direct marketing industry through innovation, leadership, technical application and/or exemplary business growth.

New CJ.com Merchant, eFaucets.com, Climbs to #2 in its Category

8:40 pm   -   August 24th, 2007

eFaucets.com launched their affiliate program on Commission Junction only about 3 months ago. CJ doesn’t publish EPC rankings until the program is stabilized at about the 90 day timeframe. Coming out of the box swinging, eFaucets shows up as Number 2 in the “Kitchen” category with a 3 month EPC of almost $80.

With an overall conversion rate of 4.5% and an average sale amount of almost $400 it is easy to see why affiliates are singing the praise of this program launch.

Affiliate Summit Miami – Early Review

8:50 pm   -   July 11th, 2007

Just back from Miami and the well attended Affiliate Summit. After going to Commission Junction University, the LinkShare Symposium and Webmaster World, in the realm of affiliates: Affiliate Summit is tops. I think it is partly due to no one company governs the activity at Affiliate Summit and that the ideas are easily shared and the networking was open and plentiful as a result.

The breakout sessions were really great and many times people actually left the bar to attend them.

Of note was a session that included Randy Almond from Walmart.com, Jake Bailey from Overstock, Andy Bajoras from move marketing, Paul Nichols from eBates and it was narrated by Keri Pollard of CJ. Randy and Jake gave the best description of well balanced programs for PPC affiliates I have yet to hear. Hopefully the video will get posted soon and I’ll add the link in a future post.

The last session on the last day, though not well attended, featured Scott Polk, head of SEO for Edmunds.com, Todd Henley of SiteLead (a PPC affiliate) and Brook Schaaf of Schaaf Consulting- an OPM for 10 affiliate programs. They went up and down the scale of how to work with affiliates, SEO and PPC in nature. Great insights and intelligently presented from all sides. Included in the discussions were stories of PPC affiliates taking over as the PPC “team”, supplanting a both agencies and in-house groups for some merchants. I didn’t make this up as I talked to numerous PPC affiliates that are being approached to manage PPC programs for merchants.

And as if I am not stirring up even more of a hornets nest, I received this from Commission Junction today:

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ValueClick, Inc. (Nasdaq:VCLK), one of the world’s largest integrated online marketing companies, today announced that for the second year in a row its affiliate marketing division, Commission Junction, is used by more advertisers on Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites than the next two affiliate marketing providers combined.
