Peptide Affiliate Website Disclosures

A high-risk niche: most research peptides are not FDA-approved for human use. The research-use-only and health caveats to combine with your affiliate disclosure, with a copyable sample.

Peptide affiliate sites sit in one of the highest-risk niches in all of affiliate marketing. Many research peptides are not approved by the FDA for human use, are commonly sold “for research use only” or “not for human consumption,” and are the subject of increasing regulatory attention. Promoting them for commission means layering strict health-claim and product-status caveats on top of your ordinary affiliate disclosure.

Why this niche is different

Unlike a typical consumer product, many peptides occupy an uncertain or restricted legal status. Making human health or performance claims about an unapproved compound is exactly the conduct regulators pursue. The disclosure is important — but it does not legalize a claim that should not be made in the first place.

The claims problem

The FTC’s health-advertising standard applies to any health or performance benefit claim: it must be supported by competent and reliable scientific evidence, and testimonials do not substitute for that evidence. Because many peptides lack the human clinical evidence that standard demands — and because they are frequently sold outside the approved-drug framework — the responsible approach for an affiliate is to avoid therapeutic, dosing, or “how to use” claims entirely, and to present information in a strictly educational, research-oriented frame.

What your disclosure block should contain

  • The affiliate disclosure (you earn a commission).
  • A research/educational-use-only statement.
  • A clear note that the products are not FDA-approved for human consumption and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.
  • A “not medical advice” statement.
  • A note that legality varies by jurisdiction and the reader is responsible for compliance.

Ready-to-use sample disclosure

Place this prominently, before any product links. It combines the affiliate disclosure with the product-status and health caveats this niche requires:

Get legal advice for this niche specifically

Because peptide legality and FDA status are evolving and vary by product and location, a generic disclosure is not enough on its own. Consult an attorney experienced in FDA/FTC and dietary/drug law before building a peptide affiliate business.
